Blick SA and MEPS sign Mozambique partnership deal

October 2003 News & Events

Security, communications and time-management solution specialist, Blick South Africa, has partnered with MEPS, a non-lethal security fencing solutions company, to extend its reach further into Africa.

The reseller partnership with MEPS gives Blick SA, a subsidiary of UK-owned global Blick group, the opportunity to market, sell, install and support its products in Mozambique and Angola.

Michael Lotter, national sales and marketing manager of Blick SA, says the agreement was spurred by the company's invested interest in the Mozambique market and the need for a service and maintenance partner in the area. MEPS and its technical expertise in security solutions, together with client base in need of Blick's products was a perfect fit.

"Although it is not an exclusive agreement, MEPS is our preferred supplier in Mozambique and Angola," says Lotter.

"MEPS has employed our service engineer, Julio Messa, who was based at Mozal, BHP Aluminium Smelter in Maputo, to service our contracts for the past few years. He has proved himself as an effective maintenance engineer and relationship builder and is able to support the complete sales and installation process," Lotter says.

"Not only does Julio bring with him a wealth of experience, but also extensive technical knowledge that Blick SA has invested in. With this agreement we can offer businesses professional services with a full range of quality products across Mozambique and Angola in the language of preference, Portuguese," he says. The process is already underway to translate Time Genius into Portuguese to make it more accessible for the local people.

MEPS is the distributor of Centurion products, which is presently the largest manufacturer of electric fencing products in Africa. Its electric fences cater for monitored electrified domestic walltop, industrial and farmstead perimeter security fences, as well as game, animal enclosures, bomas and temporary fencing for all types of animals.
