HID and versus Technology partner to create fully operational asset tracking system

HID Corporation and Versus Technology recently announced the availability of the Eagle Eye system, an asset tracking product that integrates HID ProxTrak tags and readers, at this year's International Security Conference in Las Vegas. The Eagle Eye system associates asset protection rights with specific cardholders to determine whether an asset is being moved appropriately. With the added functionality of HID ProxTrak radio-frequency identification (RFID) asset tracking products, security personnel can implement a wide variety of asset tracking solutions from electronic asset check-in/check-out to accurate asset inventories.

The Eagle Eye/ProxTrak package is compatible with the industry-standard Wiegand access control format, so minimal retrofitting is required to add asset tracking capabilities to existing access control systems. Once the Eagle Eye software and the HID tags and readers are installed, users can immediately begin tracking the movement of assets into and out of their facilities. The system is also SQL-compatible, so it can share information with most access control databases, minimising the time needed to populate its database.
