Chubb Security is contributing to the sustainability of the environment by going green with the upgrade of all its armed response vehicles.
“During the next eight months, 150 of the company’s fleet of Toyota Yaris’ will be replaced with the Toyota Aygo which is more fuel efficient and emits far less carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions,” said Neville Rothfusz, divisional managing director, Chubb Monitoring and Response, Chubb Security. “The CO2 emissions on the Toyota Aygo are only 105 g/km compared to 127 g/km on the Toyota Yaris T1 and 141 g/km on the Toyota Yaris T3. That is a saving of 22 g and 36 g respectively.”
In deciding to replace the fleet, Chubb selected the more fuel efficient models noting that green vehicles:
* Emit smaller amounts of greenhouse gases into the environment, contributing less to global warming.
* Create less smog in the air, reducing the risk of some health problems.
In addition, greater fuel efficiency can mean less reliance on expensive oil imports for the country. All the new vehicles will include Chubb’s software programmes used to track and monitor their vehicles such as enhanced vehicle tracking systems; vehicle dispatching solutions and DriveCam, an in-vehicle video camera to ensure their ROs drive safely and quickly to alarm activations.
