RDC launches new range of VHF transmitters

December 2010 Perimeter Security, Alarms & Intruder Detection

RDC will launch a completely new range of TX 790C VHF transmitters in January/February 2011.

Development efforts on the new range have focused on improved performance and aesthetics. The range is housed in a new ergonomically designed casing featuring concealed inputs and screw holes for neater and more professional looking installations. A re-designed slim-whip antenna fits snugly between the two halves of the enclosure for added support.

The transmitter will be available in a range of models and connectivity options. Up to nine hard-wired inputs are accommodated including panic, alarm, lock/open up, mains fail/restore plus up to five other telemetries. A Contact ID model and serial connection model are also available. Reporting on these models supports up to four partitions, 15 users/key holders and 31 zones. Intelligent mains fail/restore reporting incorporates programmable delays as well as battery low/restore reporting. A programmable delay on the alarm input prevents false triggering on alarm annunciation. The new unit incorporates all the industry leading innovative features of the previous model which include: a field programmable synthesised design, engineers test button, individually programmable inputs for positive or negative trip, low current draw and an LED that indicates seven different transmitter conditions.

The transmitter shows its true colours however when used in conjunction with RDC’s new network development, iprs2. The new transmitter units are able to transmit using a completely new protocol philosophy. The iprs2 advanced software uses an updated signal routing technology to send data along the most direct path to the base station. Combined with further airtime reduction and a new network protocol philosophy, the system is now more streamlined than ever. The combination of the new TX790C transmitter range and iprs2 takes VHF technology to a completely new level.

The new range will be available in January/February 2011 and will replace the existing TX690 ranges.
