Management at Ideco Group (Ideco), the market leader in identity management solutions, has confirmed its primary sponsorship of IDentity Indaba 2010. This event will take place on 15 September at the Indaba Hotel, Gauteng.
With rising organised crime and the threats associated with identity sharing, corporate SA is continuously looking to improve identity and access management strategies in order to minimise its exposure.
“Increasingly, 'authentic identity' is being used as a tool to accelerate business processes and secure environments. Within this maturing discipline, biometrics is delivering measurable value to a growing number of organisations within the public and private sectors,” explains Vhonani Mufamadi, CEO, Ideco.
The Indaba is an industry-led initiative that, with a panel of experts, will facilitate discussion with attendees in order to develop an holistic strategy for integrated identity management.
Delegates are expected to deliberate on several issues and trends that continue to impact this growing area of the security services market. The portfolio of topics to be covered includes security threats and exposure, consumer rights and responsibilities, security policies and working with identities.
In addition to presentations from keynote speakers, organisers have also made provision for interactive panel discussions and networking sessions.
These discussions will cover issues relating to the increasing challenge of organised crime and shared identities that threaten stability of infrastructure and management in corporate South Africa.
Among the topics to be addresses at the Indaba are: security policies, planning and practices, the value of proper corporate governance, risk and ethics, as well as the dos and don’ts in loss prevention initiatives.
As a primary sponsor, Ideco will have staff members on hand to advise on the use of fingerprint biometrics in identity management.
