Securex proves a successful launch pad for Sony

March/April 2002 News & Events

Securex 2002 has been the platform for the successful showcase of a range of new CCTV solutions from Sony, ranging from network cameras and video recorders to video network management systems and mini fixed dome cameras.

Says Sony Broadcast & Professional SA product manager Dave Schultz: "The Sony/VisionLine stand at Securex 2002 proved to be a major marketing success for Sony in terms of interest shown and leads generated."

"One of the products on display was the Sony SNC-VL10 Network Camera, a new high-quality colour video camera that allows remote monitoring from anywhere, any time, using a standard web browser." Up to 100 users can access to the camera simultaneously and images can be distributed through FTP/SMTP. By using the camera composite video output it can integrate into existing CCTV systems. Alarm/Event handling can be achieved via either the camera's embedded motion detector or an external alarm input.

"Simple to install, cost effective and easy to expand, the new SNT-V304 Video Network Station from Sony allows a broad range of professionals - from security managers and quality control inspectors to market researchers and shop owners - to easily manage and view pictures from one or more CCTV cameras that may be scattered over a wide area," Schultz notes.

"The new Sony HSR-X200P hard disk video recorder can record many weeks' worth of high-quality digital images, with the added benefits of simultaneous record/playback capability plus remote control over standard networks," comments Schultz. "This provides 'any time, any place' control and sharing of time-lapse video images.

"Sony also introduced four easy-to-fit colour (SSC-CD33VP) and black and white (SSC-MD33VCE) mini fixed-dome cameras at Securex 2002, available in standard and 'ruggedised' versions. The new line-up offers exceptional picture quality at affordable cost, allowing museums, businesses, retail and leisure centres as well as 'at-risk' areas to maintain a discrete observation and protection presence." All models feature a high-quality auto iris vari-focal lens that can be freely rotated and adjusted for optimum coverage of the desired area.
