Third-party inspections are here

The FDIB became operational on 1 September 2002.

The fees are as follows:

Registration fee: R1500.

This to be financed 50% by the FDIA and 50% by ASIB. There is no cost to you. Future fees will be re-directed from your FDIA fees.

Inspection fees are applicable for all your installations at R100 per zone; this applies to both conventional and addressable. Please ensure you cost this in to all of your quotes now. Inspections for the first three months will be conducted in Pretoria and Johannesburg surrounding areas only. Inspection outside of these areas will be conducted on special request only.

Be aware that this service is available to FDIA members only. We have already contacted consultants to insist on third-party inspection and requested that they specify these requirements. Inspections of new installations are for FDIA members only and for end-users' use for existing systems.

Upgrades of existing systems will be recommended to be directed to FDIA members only. Please support this new move and it will benefit us all ultimately.
