Control panel offers many extras

October 2002 Perimeter Security, Alarms & Intruder Detection

The new DSC Power 8 control panel offers an 8-zone basic control panel expandable to 32 wireless zones. Along with the extra zones the panel now also boasts eight true partitions with the capability of scheduled Auto Arming per partition per day of the week.

The panel supports all major formats including SIA and contact ID, and also includes an automatic reporting option. DSC has also included a TCPIP LAN/WAN communication card to allow signals to be sent to a central station via any existing or new LAN/WAN or intranet network.

With insurance companies calling for event memory in a control panel to back up in the event of a burglary condition, DSC has extended the event buffer from 128 to 256 events. Other additional user features that have been added to the Power 8 include Group Bypass and Bypass Recall.
