The OnGuard 2002 operating system from Lenel Systems includes a central station alarm receiver interface that supports a host of different alarm panels in numerous industry formats.
An alarm receiver acts as a central communication point for all of the alarm panels connected to it. When an event occurs on a panel, the panel reports the event to the alarm receiver, which in turn reports the event to the OnGuard Alarm Monitoring application. The event can then be processed like any other alarm in the OnGuard system. Alarms from any type of local alarm panel can be automatically linked in realtime to a full suite of features available within OnGuard's integrated environment. For example, OnGuard can be configured such that when a specified alarm occurs, an audio alarm notification is triggered, a camera is instructed to start recording digital video at the alarm location, and email and paging messages are sent to emergency response personnel.
OnGuard Alarm Monitoring workstations can monitor one or more alarm receivers either by Ethernet LAN communication or via an RS232 direct connection. Other key features of the central station alarm receiver interface include the ability to assign account numbers to specific panels, the ability to organise one or more accounts into an account group, the creation of event categories to allow OnGuard to filter events based on the category type, customisable mappings of specific event codes generated from the alarm receivers to existing OnGuard events, centralised reporting and complete event tracking logs.
