Integrated CCTV solution

November 2001 Surveillance

Honeywell Digital Video Manager (DVM) is a scalable, digital closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance solution that addresses head-on the challenges of video surveillance, security and enterprise operations. Its architecture takes advantage of an enterprise's network communications structure - eliminating the need for coaxial cables and providing camera portability.

This CCTV solution seamlessly integrates with the security, life safety and building automation functions of the Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator (EBI). Using a single PC workstation, this enterprise solution gives a complete picture of a facility, while delivering control of your surveillance operations.

Single user interface

Operators can control individual cameras' pan-tilt-zoom functions, enter recording commands and simultaneously view high-quality live images, as well as record and play stored video from a single camera. In addition the solution's user interface features intuitive Microsoft Windows software, web-style navigation buttons, tab views and VCR-type recording controls. Operators can view which cameras, and even determine which operators, will have access to which video recordings. Plus all operator and system actions are automatically recorded to the system log, providing a full audit trail of surveillance operations.

Flexible architecture

The DVM solution leverages a facility's TCP/IP networks in combination with industry-standard PCs. New CCTV monitors only require a PC with suitable software and a network connection. Further, there is no longer a need to purchase and maintain racks of recording equipment, monitors and switches.
