ATEC strengthens management team

In the wake of its acquisitions of Letlhaka Technologies and Core Management Solutions in 2011, ATEC Systems and Technologies (ATEC), a national specialist ICT and software company focused on Telecommunications, Security and Management systems, has, as of April, initiated a restructure of its management portfolio. The move signals a fresh chapter in the growth and development of the company.

ATEC’s Core focus is telecoms and security. Following the integration of Letlhaka Technologies and Core Management Solutions, which is now trading as a division of ATEC, Louis Parker has been appointed as CEO to fulfil the role established by MD Frans Verwoerd.

Parker founded the Visitor Management System which was integrated into the ATEC set-up in June of 2011. A chemical engineer by trade, he has eight years experience in process and product development with the likes of CSIR and AECI.

He focused his career on company management after his project management diploma and MBA degree and has spent the last eight years either building his own business or revamping companies such as Tile Africa and Johnson Tiles, while employed at the Norcros group of companies.

The management team of experienced ICT and engineering professionals comprises chief commercial director, Gerhard Loots, chief technical officer, Riaan Janse van Rensburg, chief operational officer, Pieter Siebert and chief financial officer, Lourene van Niekerk.

Loots founded ATEC in 2004. In addition to acquiring a legal qualification from the University of Stellenbosch, he has obtained a MCSE and CFOT certification and sits on the company’s board of directors. As CCO Loots is responsible for overall commercial strategy and innovation.

Janse van Rensburg has a track-record of over twenty years’ experience in fibre-to-the-home and fibre-optics and oversees the team is responsible for the development and integration of software, hardware systems, networks and Web applications for the company’s range of products and services.

Siebert has been with the company for four years. His portfolio of responsibility covers management of the company’s operations, implementation of policies and procedures on new sites and management of CRM with all national e-State’s, e-Secure, i-Dentified & Fibre Suburb sites.

Van Niekerk recently joined ATEC as financial manager. She is an accomplished business professional with 18 years’ experience in all aspects of finance within the mining, manufacturing and retail industries. She will be overseeing the finance and procurement functions at the company.
