Integrated campus solutions

With increasing pressure to strengthen campus safety, colleges and universities are searching for security solutions that meet their specific needs and goals. Security systems that help educational institutions to attract and retain students by providing 24/7 campus security – giving students and faculty the protection they need to feel safe and secure.

Since students, faculty, and staff members are a university’s greatest assets, partnering with a security provider that understands the importance of safety on campuses is critical.

Honeywell offers integrated security systems designed specifically for campus environments, such as access control for employees and visitors, smartcards – whether used to track cafeteria and bookshop purchases or computer access, video surveillance to monitor campus grounds or vehicles, intrusion detection, and user identification and fire/life safety.

Delaware State University

With its main location in Dover, Delaware, and campuses in Georgetown and Wilmington, all in the USA, Delaware State University (DSU) is a diverse school serving more than 3700 students each year. Since DSU uses safety and security as a differential in recruiting students, the DSU Police Department strives to maintain a safe environment for the campus community.

DSU’s campus officials selected Honeywell’s Pro-Watch security management system, a client-server architecture, as a multicampus solution that integrates DSU’s building and vehicle access control, video surveillance, ID badging, intrusion detection, asset detection and fire alarm systems. Pro-Watch integrated DSU’s student accounts/HR, dining and library systems to streamline the registration process – which in turn saved the university thousands of hours in data entry and wasted time. Honeywell gives end-users the peace of mind that comes from knowing that their operations are safe and secure campus-wide.
