ZKTeco launches ZKBioSecurity 3.0

Access & Identity Management Handbook 2017 Access Control & Identity Management, Integrated Solutions, Products & Solutions

For years ZKTeco has sold numerous access control solutions that catered for standalone and small to medium size installations. These are the type of systems that made ZKTeco a well-known brand in as far as small, medium, and inexpensive access control solutions are concerned.

The beginning of 2016 saw the launch of the ZKBioSecurity 3.0 platform which now offers ZKTeco the opportunity to compete head-to-head with the regular names in the medium to enterprise level access control market globally, but at a much lower price point. This means the same quality, the same product lifespan, with a 3-year carry-in warranty on the hardware, but with a much higher profit margin for the system integrator.

ZKBioSecurity 3.0 is the ultimate ‘All-in-One’ web-based security platform developed by ZKTeco. It contains four integrated modules: access control, video linkage (HikVision, Dahua), elevator control and visitor management. With an optimised system architecture designed for high level biometric identification and modern-user friendly UI, ZKBioSecurity 3.0 provides an advanced solution for a new user experience with a sleek and compact design.

The system offers the following functions:

• All-in-one solution (access control, video surveillance, elevator and visitor).

• Simple structure and smooth workflow.

• Many doors management capacity (up to 2000 doors in single server and 8000 in multi-server configurations).

• Stable, fast and consistent communication.

• Advanced access control functions.

• Global anti-passback and linkage.

• Video integration compatible with third-party devices (such as Hikvision and Dahua).

• Automatic data backup.

• Alarms and events e-mail notifications.

• System log monitoring system.

• Supports all ZKTeco push access panels and selected standalone terminals.

The database design structure of the platform allows for flexible integration to third-party database applications through the use of Middle Tables, which act as a staging platform for data sharing, both in and out of ZKBiosecurity 3.0. This makes it easy for systems like time and attendance, student management applications and other human resources applications to import data to as well as export data from ZKBiosecurity seamlessly.

The hardware components of this system include the inBio controller series and the FR1200 RS485 slave biometric readers. The inBio carries out the matching of fingerprints on the panel, instead of on the reader device. The inBio controller supports up to 20 000 fingerprint templates, 60 000 card users and stores up 100 000 events and transactions.

The FR Series slave biometric readers transmit fingerprint templates to the inBio via RS-485 for fast and accurate matching with templates that are stored in the controller’s database. Wiegand inputs are also provided for traditional RFID card readers. This technology eliminates the need for the deployment of intelligent biometric devices (which are commonly very costly) and as such keeps deployment costs lower.

The inBio controllers come in three sizes to suit project needs and reduce the cost of unused capacity. The options are 1-door, 2-door and 4-door models which can be mixed in an optimised system architecture.
