CathexisVision gets another stamp of approval

1 April 2019 News & Events, Surveillance

CathexisVision, the video surveillance management software suite from Cathexis Technologies has received another glowing verdict from Benchmark as a Recommended and Best Buy product for March 2019.

Benchmark is a globally recognised business-to-business publication for installers and integrators, dedicated to technological innovation and the design and implementation of smarter solutions. Last year, CathexisVision took first place for the prestigious 2018 Benchmark Innovation Awards in the Video Surveillance Software category.

While video management solutions (VMS) solutions are often associated with, large and complex applications with multiple benefits for high-end users, they also deliver bespoke functionality and a flexible value-added approach for smaller applications. This March, Benchmark examined various VMS solutions that would be ideal for SMEs and other smaller applications.

According to Benchmark VMS solutions for smaller applications need to meet the criteria for simple installation, easy integration with third-party devices and excel in event handling.

Benchmark offers three different verdicts for tested products: Recommended, Outstanding and Best Buy. Recommended Status is awarded to products that have undergone rigorous testing and reached a high standard in delivering genuine benefits in terms of innovative and creative solutions. Best Buy considers the price/performance ratio to reflect value for money. In group tests the product which delivers the best price/performance ratio, receives the Benchmark Best Buy status.

Other products tested alongside CathexisVision this month, included: Axis: CameraStation (rated as Recommended), Milestone Systems: XProtect Essential+ (rated as Recommended), Hanwha Techwin: Wisenet Wave (rated as Recommended).

The Benchmark Verdict for CathexisVision was as follows: “CathexisVision offers two versions of the VMS software which are ideal for SMEs, and integrators or installers should consider the VMS when seeking an intuitive and flexible package. At first glance the VMS does look like you might need some IT skills, but it is actually very straightforward. The configuration flow is excellent and many of the processes are automated. If you can select from drop-down menus, you can set up event management! Installation is very straightforward; the device discovery feature works well. Functionality and flexibility are plentiful. CathexisVision easily achieves Recommended Status and is also rated as a Best Buy Product.”
