Trend Micro announced it will be working with NEC XON to provide a united solution and African security service where technology meets the physical world. This alliance means that Trend Micro brings innovative security solutions to the table and NEC XON will manage the cyber and physical security services. NEC XON has been awarded platinum status with Trend Micro.

Fake Facebook sites = 60% of social network phishing

In the first quarter of 2018, Kaspersky Lab’s anti-phishing technologies prevented more than 3.7 million attempts to visit fraudulent social network pages of which 60% were fake Facebook pages. The results, according to the Kaspersky Lab report, Spam and phishing in Q1 2018, demonstrates that cybercriminals are still doing what they can to get their hands on personal data.


MTN and Cisco launch IoT services

MTN and Cisco announced the availability of the Cisco Jasper Control Centre automated IoT connectivity platform for all companies looking to provide IoT services to their customers on MTN’s mobile network throughout South Africa.

The control centre enables enterprises to securely and cost-effectively deliver new connected services throughout South Africa, and to scale those services globally as needed. Cisco Jasper partners with 50+ service providers that manage IoT devices across more than 550 mobile networks worldwide, which enables businesses throughout South Africa to deliver IoT services to other countries, too, as business demands.


Intelligently manage traffic data

To provide a practical solution to the monitoring of transportation infrastructure where maximum situational awareness is paramount, Bosch has combined its video security cameras with the video management expertise of Intelligent Security Systems (ISS).

The partnership with ISS supports Bosch’s belief that the logical next-step for security is to enable customers to repurpose the vast amounts of video data that they now can capture.
