IR cameras protect CPD

July 2017 Surveillance

To improve their on-site security, CPD, a trade distributor occupying a multi-building site spread over 7500 square metres, turned to security specialists Mapogo A Mathamaga.

Mapogo specified the Hikvision DS-2CD2T22WD-I8 2MP Full HD 1080p EXIR network bullet cameras with built-in 80 m range IR, and the Hikvision DS-2CD2022WD-I8 2 MP Full HD 1080p IR bullet network cameras with 30 m range IR.

To provide local recording and to support ‘out of hours’ remote off-site monitoring, Hikvision DS-7604/7608/7616NI-E1/4P(-E2/8P) Embedded Plug & Play NVRs were also installed. They offer up to 6 MP 1920x1080p resolution recording, plug & play PoE and a RJ-45 10/100/1000 Mbps network interface.

“Based on cost-effective product performance and our experience of customer satisfaction, we specified a Hikvision-based system for CPD,” explained Riaan van Jaarsveld of Mapogo A Mathamaga. “To provide comprehensive 24/7 surveillance, it was very important for us to have effective perimeter coverage to enable dependable off-site monitoring. The excellent low-light surveillance imaging performance and IR range of the Hikvision 2 MP bullet cameras makes them ideal for fence-line deployment, to view the perimeter day and night.

“We’re very happy with the Hikvision equipment and control software, and the excellent quality of images they supply to our remote monitoring control room,” added Van Jaarsveld. “CPD are very satisfied with their new Hikvision based surveillance solution.”
