AWM360 Data Systems was acquired by dormakaba South Africa as of 1 March, 2017. AWM360 Data Systems is a workforce management (WFM) and access control solutions provider with more than 10 years’ experience, and has an impressive client base.

“We are excited that dormakaba has recognised the value of the AWM360 Data Systems brand,” says Guenter Nerlich, MD, AWM360 Data Systems. “With this acquisition, dormakaba is now able to further its development in the southern Africa enterprise resource planning (ERP) markets, and expand its footprint significantly. For us, it allows AWM360 Data Systems to take our business to the next level while taking advantage of the additional expertise and market innovation which dormakaba provides.”

The acquisition is a logical move in dormakaba’s effort to strengthen its reputation as a global leader in WFM and access control solutions. The dormakaba Group has also recently undergone a merger between Dorma (Germany) and Kaba (Switzerland). The two organisations had the perfect synergy in terms of product and market, and the merger has allowed them to create a cohesive brand with a powerful global footprint.

Dormakaba South Africa’s regional director, Shaun Frayne, says he believes “this is a move in the right direction where we can leverage our success in our current business to really grow and develop the workforce management side. By acquiring AWM 360 we gain instant expertise and can service our potential customers is the best way possible.”

For AWM360 Data Systems, the acquisition allows them to focus even more effectively on their product offering and customer service. Customers won’t experience any shift in service or solution, but will gain access to the full dormakaba ecosystem of products.
