UHF long-range Wiegand readers

The UHF1-5, UHF2-5, UHF1-10 and UHF2-10 are ZK Teco’s new generation RFID Ultra High Frequency product series. These products were independently researched and developed by ZK’s in-house R&D team to create a convenient hands-free solution to be used in vehicle access control, person identification or asset management.

All the models in the ZKTeco UHF series have an IP66 dust-proof and weatherproof rating which is suitable for any outdoor installation. The UHF readers can support 34-bit Wiegand output by default, but can be set via PC software to 26 bit. The maximum cable length from any master device which the UHF reader is connected to is 100 metres, as long as an independent power supply for the reader is used and installed close to the reader.

The readers have two working modes. The first is a ‘trigger read’ where the reader will only start scanning for a tag or card when an input is sensed from an IR beam, loop detector or any passive detection device connected to the reader. The second mode is an ‘always read’ mode which enables the reader to keep on scanning for any cards in its ‘read’ range, whether there is an object to scan or not. In the ‘always read’ mode, the scanner can detect up to 50 tags or cards per second, given that the tags or cards are well presented.
