Optimising security and other home systems

November 2016 Perimeter Security, Alarms & Intruder Detection, Products

Elvey has announced it is the sole distributor for Interlogix intrusion systems. According to Jack Edery, CEO of Elvey, the benefits to customers are that in addition to the legacy equipment and support they have always enjoyed from Elvey, there is now a feature-filled basket of Interlogix products and software services focused on increasing security and adding smart home control to the mix.

Edery believes that Interlogix’s range is the epitome of innovative, user-friendly security. The addition of six new stylish keypads, the NX-596E communications module and the UltraSync mobile app to the NetworX family are clear indications that the company is reacting to market needs. All of these products are fully compatible with all existing NX range control panels.

NetworX Advanced Touch LED keypads offer dependable security in a compact design. The removable door enables the keypad to blend in with any décor, while clear status light indicators and backlit keys offer ease of operation. The keypads have dedicated emergency keys and five pre-programmed function keys for one-touch user convenience. The personal voice guide (PVG) provides step-by-step instructions to simplify the user experience.

The NetworX IP communication module enables remote management and alarm reporting for NetworX version 2 security panels. Communicating through the Internet via an Ethernet connection, the module can be configured for alarm reporting over IP when public switch telephone network (PSTN) connectivity is not available. The NetworX panel can also use PSTN for failover connectivity if the IP communications path is lost.

By interfacing with Interlogix’s UltraSync SmartHome app, the NetworX communications module enables remote management of NetworX security panels from both iOS and Android devices. The module can also be configured through a Web browser when connected to the panel’s network from a local computer, local smartphone or local tablet.

The UltraSync remote management mobile application (for iOS and Android) extends the programming and interactive capabilities of any system compatible with the UltraSync Series of smart security products. The UltraSync system features a control hub that communicates with security and life safety sensors using a proprietary wireless protocol and with smart devices, switches and outlets using Z-Wave and Wi-Fi technologies.

With the UltraSync mobile application, users can remotely arm and disarm the system, view live-streaming surveillance videos and control Z-Wave devices including lights, locks and thermostats from virtually anywhere in the world. It uses pre-set schedules, geo location and remote system management to help users manage energy consumption.
