Free IDS online training and exam certification

September 2014 Conferences & Events

IDS believes having a good technical understanding of its range of security products will lead to correct installations, reducing customers installation time and costs. This is one of the key reasons it has dedicated time and resources in developing a Web-based online training and exam certification system over the past two years. This resource is an addition to complement the existing classroom type, instructor-led training, regularly held at IDS branches around South Africa.

If your technicians are not using IDS online training, they are missing out on key product training. Currently, there are over 500 individuals enrolled in online training (as of August 2014). IDS’s online training has been designed to be interactive, requiring learners to click on images or text to display product information and proceed forward to the next step, this helps keeps the learner focused. Animated examples of programming steps are also provided as an additional visual example.

This resource can be accessed from anywhere over the Internet, at any time, giving installers and technicians access to quality training that can be completed at each individual’s own pace.

Each IDS online course has an exam that tests a learner’s product knowledge and understanding after completing the course training module. Should a pass of 80% be achieved on the exam, the learner has immediate access to their course certificate in the form of a PDF download.

The online courses range from 'Intrusion Basics' including basic electrical and wiring concepts, to a full IDS panel training course, covering all installer programming and user codes setup. The free IDS online training and exam certification is open to IDS account holding customers. Register and login at the IDS website at www.idsprotect.com to access the online training.
