Energy management reduces costs

January 2014 Integrated Solutions

Over and above the massive increases in electricity since 2008, it is believed that the demand for electricity in South Africa is set to double by 2030, which could result in a major energy crisis in respect to both supply and demand.

e-Green automation is a fully integrated building management system aimed at optimising energy efficiency in order to reduce electricity consumption and costs at a price which puts it within financial reach of most companies and residences to reduce and manage electricity demand. It aims to optimise the use of electricity within a house or business, and by so doing minimise the unavoidable effects that increases in electricity costs will have on your home or business.

e-Green automation will assist with energy saving, lighting and climate control and other technologies that enhance the home/working environment by reducing carbon emissions, improving efficiency and saving money. This is done by combining manual control, motion detection and timers with LUX level sensing, alarm and links to access control systems which enable seamless management of all aspects of a building in a cost effective and functional manner.

In this day and age, information is what sets businesses apart and by integrating information to a single platform, e-Green can interpret information provided by multiple technologies to create total situational awareness. It is only once all variables within an environment have been taken into account that complete facilities management can be cost effectively implemented. We can now provide this by offering real-time status updates and instant notifications allowing immediate action to be taken in order to optimise running costs of a household or business.

Standard system features of e-Green include total lighting control, climate control in respect to management of standalone, HVAC VAV and fan coil systems, curtains, gates, windows, irrigation, pool, integration into CCTV and access control systems via a customisable Web-based interface, and it offers integration with other building management systems.

Applications are numerous and include, residential homes, apartments, estates, healthcare facilities, schools, office parks, retail environments, commercial and residential buildings and due to its networking capabilities it can be used in any multi-site environment.

Powell Tronics now provides a means to reduce the financial impact that energy hikes have and will deliver savings to any facility wishing to reduce costs, through its accredited installers/contractors.
