Virdi appoints product manager for Africa

Virdi Distribution has appointed Deon Janse van Rensburg as its product manager for Africa. This appointment follows on the recent appointment of Virdi Distribution’s MD, Jonathan Kahn, as vice president of Union Community’s International Division.

South Korean-based Union Community is the manufacturer of all ViRDI biometric fingerprint access control products, which are distributed throughout southern Africa and the rest of Africa via a distribution network managed by Virdi Distribution SA.

“My appointment to the Union Community board of directors prompted us to re-evaluate the role I would play in expanding our operations in Africa. While I will continue to manage Virdi Distribution, my role with Union Community will entail extensive travel and more intensive liaison with the organisation’s board,” said Kahn.

Janse van Rensburg will be responsible for increasing the penetration of Virdi products throughout Gauteng and the rest of Africa. He holds an MDP from Unisa and has been involved in the security industry since 1996. His experience ranges from systems design to sales and production with a number of well-known companies including Chubb, Datanet and Management and Supply of Security Solutions t/a MASS.
