A new fleet management system

April 2013 News & Events

Security systems specialist, MASS, recently launched the VidiWave fleet management system. VidiWave offers an all-in-one fleet management solution which includes live video streaming, live GPS tracking, bi-directional audio, accelerometer, an engine management system, Google Earth streaming, driver training, integration of fleet management software through CANbus and an off-site control room. It has application not only for motor vehicles, but also in sectors such as rail, mining, trucking, bus fleets, car fleets, police, emergency services, cash in transit and military.

The intelligent modules are easily installed. They include facilities for spike monitoring and protection, storage and a selection of IP and analogue CCTV cameras. The wireless intelligent monitoring (WIMS) module has a range of data and failure monitoring options including CANbus and connects through 3G or WiFi to a standard, easy to use browser interface.

Applications include detection and prevention of theft through fuel siphoning, preventative maintenance in mining, detection of in-house fraud (staff running their own business inside your business), prevention of vehicle abuse, training in good driving technique, optimal route choice, support for accident and insurance claims, management of fleets and control and detection of freight loads.

“VidiWave does for boat, trains and vehicles what the black box does for aeroplanes and much more,” says Martin Redecker, business development manager for MASS.
