iPulse Systems appoints Elvey as distributor

November 2012 News & Events, Access Control & Identity Management

iPulse Systems, a local developer and manufacturer of biometric fingerprint devices, has appointed Elvey Security Technology as its distribution partner for South and sub-Saharan Africa.

“iPulse Systems is a company focused on design innovation and manufacture excellence,” says Gary Chalmers, CEO. “Our core competence lies in these specific areas, and we have therefore decided to appoint Elvey Security Technology, arguably Africa’s top security distribution company, as our distribution partner to manage the logistics and geographic distribution of our product set. We are delighted that Elvey has chosen our product to complement its biometric offering moving into 2013.”

Valerie Bingham, supply chain manager, Elvey, says, “Elvey is committed to building relationships with manufacturers to bring best-of-breed security solutions to the market. iPulse addresses a definite need in the market for rugged, standalone biometric solutions that offer excellent value versus performance. The fact that they are a local company which does all its design and manufacturing in South Africa is an added bonus as part of our drive is to support local wherever possible, especially when their solutions are leading edge.”

“iPulse has a local repair facility and resources which makes supporting its product a much easier task,” continues Zane Greeff, technical director at Elvey. “Its commitment to building ruggedised, African products is a key reason we have selected its products. The iPulse range fits well into our basket as a standalone product with T&A and complements the existing Elvey offering.”

The iPulse iDU5 Enterprise and iPB6 Enterprise products will be available from Elvey throughout South Africa in October, and will be taken into the African market in early 2013.
