Security and safety solutions under one roof

January 2024 News & Events

With the introduction of the Facilities Management Expo in 2019 and the addition of Firexpo in 2022, Specialised Exhibitions (a division of Montgomery Group) was able to provide the market with a comprehensive collection of security, safety and facilities management product and service solutions all under one roof, including long-standing favourites Securex South Africa and A-OSH EXPO.

The popularity of the four co-located shows continues to grow, as evidenced by the record number of visitors at the Gallagher Convention Centre from 6 to 8 June 2023. “We were thrilled to see the huge interest in the four shows, with 11 465 people visiting the expos over the three days. We welcomed many of our long-standing and loyal exhibitors, together with a pleasing number of new exhibitors. Due to the keen interest shown by exhibitors, we are extending the expo floor space by opening an additional hall for the expos being held from 28 to 30 May 2024,” says Mark Anderson, Portfolio Director at Specialised Exhibitions.

Anderson explains that there is no other event quite like the four co-located shows anywhere in Africa, in terms of the variety of solutions on display and the sheer number of exhibitors. “By co-locating the 30-year-old Securex South Africa, the 14-year-old A-OSH EXPO, Facilities Management Expo, and Firexpo, we provide exhibitors and visitors with several benefits. For exhibitors, the visitors to each of the individual shows naturally pass through the exhibition space for the remaining shows, thereby increasing foot traffic to the exhibition stands. Ultimately, this means a larger chance of interacting with visitors and the increased possibility of making a sale.”

“With regard to visitors, we understand that time is of the essence, and that business people need to achieve as much as possible in the shortest space of time. Not only are trade shows proven to decrease the time and effort needed to source specific solutions, but by placing four synergistic trade shows in one venue, we further minimise the time needed to find the products and services these busy industry captains are looking for,” he says.

All four shows are complemented by a variety of additional visitor attractions, which include the new product display, the drone demonstration zone, the K9 law enforcement demonstration area, the SAIDSA techman competition, the OSPAS Awards, and the Premier Guest Lounge. In addition, five free-to-attend seminar theatres — Securex Seminar Theatre, Saiosh Seminar Theatre, Facilities Management Seminar Theatre, Working at Height and Safety Seminar Theatre, and the Firexpo Seminar Theatre — provide an intensive and inclusive seminar programme that discusses current industry trends, challenges, and regulations.

“The four co-located expos offer visitors an opportunity to see the solutions they need to identify challenges and risks within their business environment, in action. By being able to ‘test drive’ solutions pre-purchase, they save time and money, ensuring that all products and services they secure are fit for purpose,” says Anderson.

Organisations wishing to exhibit at Securex South Africa, A-OSH EXPO, Facilities Management Expo, or Firexpo 2024 can contact the team on zelda.jordaan@montgomerygroup.com or kyle.burgess@montgomerygroup.com to book a space or capitalise on a sponsorship opportunity.
