In a move that will shock the local security industry, ADI Global recently sent an email to its customers notifying them that it will cease its business operations in South Africa, possibly as soon as the end of 2023.
In the email, the global distributor notes that “due to the highly competitive market conditions, currency instability and unstable public infrastructure, we feel it is a necessary action that will enable us to realign our investments to help us support our overall global growth plans.”
While operations will cease and the full impact on employees is not yet known, ADI will continue to provide services to local customers and fulfil its commitments. The company says that customers will “still be able to return products subject to the current return guidelines”.
Further communications will be forthcoming in November 2023.
