Schneider Electric is looking for your bold idea

Issue 1 2023 News & Events

Schneider Electric has launched this year’s Schneider Go Green, an annual competition that invites university students from across the globe to share their ideas for innovations that can help make the world cleaner, more inclusive, and more sustainable.

Now open for registration to all students from the Middle East and Africa, this year’s theme, Sustainable and Efficient Buildings, encourages participants to dream big, transform, and unlock the efficiency of today’s buildings to make it smarter and more people centric. University students’ bold ideas should demonstrate how buildings of the future will meet the needs of its occupants while minimising its base load, operating costs, and environmental impact.

What do students stand to win? €3000 (R58 000, based on the exchange rate at the time of publishing), an international trip, an internship and other employment opportunities at Schneider Electric.

“Innovative and bold ideas can do so much to make the world a cleaner, sustainable place for today and the future. Schneider Go Green is all about helping passionate young people turn their own ideas into practical and feasible projects which can truly make a difference,” says Modlay Davids, Talent Acquisition & Employer Branding Specialist at Schneider Electric.

To enter the Schneider Go Green competition, students will have to complete the following steps:

1. Register and submit an innovative idea by 30 March 2023 at https://gogreen.se.com/en.

2. Participate in an intensive bootcamp from 2-3 May 2023 at Schneider Electric’s office where sales and business presentation skills will be honed and perfected.

3. Mentoring and preparation for the regional competition which take place from 4 May to 15 June 2023. Here students will have the opportunity to connect with Schneider Electric experts to prepare their business ideas.

4. 10 July 2023: Regional finals where students will showcase their idea to a jury, consisting of Schneider Electric decision makers, followed by the regional and global winners’ announcement.

Launched in 2011 by Schneider Electric, the Schneider Go Green competition has grown rapidly over the last 13 years. In 2022, more than 22 200 students from 200 countries registered for the event, and more than 3 700 submitted innovative ideas that fitted into the competition categories.
