Olarm product highlights for 2022

Issue 8 2022 Perimeter Security, Alarms & Intruder Detection, Products & Solutions

Olarm is driven to deliver great partner experiences and deliver on its promise of providing innovative and practical solutions that help partners offer superior customer service and easy, smart upgrades to users’ existing security peripherals. Olarm rapidly expanded its ecosystem in 2022 with the following product launches and features.

1. Olarm PRO 4G launched

Olarm launched the Olarm PRO 4G communicator, an upgrade on its 2G communicator. It offers better resilience during load shedding, and better connectivity in areas with poor 2G signal.

2. Integrations keep on expanding

Olarm PRO for electric fences: Olarm integrated with Nemtek electric fence energisers (Druid, Merlin 4i, and Merlin Stealth), with Wizord integration launching early in 2023.

Olarm PRO for alarm panels: Olarm now integrates with more than 25 panels covering Paradox, DSC, Texecom and IDS, making it possible for partners to service more customers, and smart-enable their alarm systems.

Olarm PRO installation enhancements: Olarm introduced WPS mode Wi-Fi pairing. This feature makes connecting the Olarm PRO and Olarm PRO 4G to a secure wireless network quicker and easier.

3. Olarm Command Centre features

Olarm's Security Partners were introduced to the ‘Skip Signals’ feature within the Olarm Command Centre, which greatly assisted teams during load shedding and allowed them to focus their efforts on the real threats and issues their customers face.

4. Olarm app features

Olarm app users and security partners benefited from the app's new ‘Cancel Responder’ feature. This feature allows Olarm users to cancel any user-generated alarms from their app, immediately notifying the control room and thus sparing unnecessary callouts and associated costs in a smart, unique way. The app now supports multi-language characters, symbols, and emojis for labels and names, such as Arabic, Chinese and Hebrew. The app also supports time-based access for multi-users, greatly assisting business and guest house owners.

5. Olarm Academy launched

Over 100 industry-leading professionals have started their learning journey with Olarm on the newly launched e-learning platform: Olarm Academy. Olarm also introduced its partner management team in Gauteng to offer local support and help grow its regional presence. The team has already positively impacted the region by assisting existing and new partners. They will be looking to extend their outreach in 2023.
