SuperVision biometric access control

Issue 8 2022 Integrated Solutions, Access Control & Identity Management, Products & Solutions

Fourier IT has been developing, supporting and maintaining technical solutions for the security and information technology industries in South Africa for over 20 years. SuperVision is a time & attendance (T&A) biometric access control system the company has been developing and enhancing for 18 years.

Using SuperVision, Fourier’s customers have a simple access and identity management platform, using biometrics for identifying users, which removes the old PIN code or card-based access problems. The system is highly secure and assists clients in saving money by preventing fraud and completely replacing all paper-based systems.

SuperVision is part of Fourier’s Cerberus modular cloud software suite that provides access to a web back-end for live information processing and fast and accurate capture of visitor data. It is fully PoPIA-compliant and empowers clients to do immediate data vetting, and can integrate with a range of third-party hardware and software applications, including payroll.

As a cloud-based system, SuperVision is scalable and can be used in small companies or large enterprises for T&A; or visitor management. It offers a single point of management whether the system is deployed at a single location or over multiple sites. Built-in reporting functions allow for comprehensive T&A; reports, as well as business intelligence, analytics and data mining to optimise business operations.

IoT Constellation

Fourier has a broad scope of operations beyond SuperVision. Its IoT (Internet of Things) platform is named IOT Constellation, and allows for the consumption of external data from sensors and edge devices to enhance and enrich data for decision making. It also possesses the capability to integrate into other systems, either as an additional data source or to provide data input.

IoT Constellation is built around SOA (service-oriented architecture) principles and therefore allows for scalability and replacement of components (or new devices). The company says it is able to “unlock value from any stage along the IOT maturity journey”.

Some IoT Constellation features include:

1. Cloud deployable.

2. Consolidation and integration.

3. Operational dashboards.

4. Command & control.

5. Security.

6. Alerts and triggers.

7. Operational reporting.

8. Advanced decision support.
