RealPass-N document reader

Issue 3 2022 Access Control & Identity Management

A compact, multi-functional full-page document reader, Suprema’s RealPass-N offers one-step scanning to capture images and data from multiple documents including ICAO Doc 9303 compliant eMRTD such as e-passports, e-visas, ID cards and barcodes.

RealPass-N’s ergonomic form factor with low profile and a simple shape for space-saving, as well as it’s hoodless design offers unobstructed operation and ease-of-use by operators and allows for use and easy integration into self-service kiosks, e-gates and counters. In addition, it’s rugged hardware design with durable tempered glass and IP54-rated dust and waterproof surface makes it suitable for operation in harsh environments.

Using the RealPass-N is simple and fast. It features an intuitive ‘landing light’ indicator which ensures easy document reading, with audio user prompts and automatic detection of document placement that guides the user in the correct positioning of the document.

RealPass-N makes use of Suprema ID’s True Image Engine Adaptive image enhancement solutions for external lighting and offers multiple scanning modes designed to enable the capture of high-resolution 600 dpi (scalable) images in multiple wavelengths – visible, IR and UV illumination.

It also features an integrated dual RF antenna for fast and accurate e-Document data extraction regardless of its position in the document. With an integrated ISO14443 contactless RFID reader module, it supports BAC, EAC, PACE and all related chip security protocols to access digital chip data. Further, it’s anti-glare technology ensures high quality image acquisition by diminishing document laminate and hologram reflections.

RealPass-N is ideal for use in airports, passport and visa issuance, border control and immigration services, duty-free shops, casinos, hotels, travel agencies, car rental, currency exchange, etc.
