The worst year on record for cybersecurity

Mimecast is hosting a webinar discussing its 2022 State of Email Security report on Thursday, 17 March 2022 at 10:00, titled: Confronting the new wave of cyber attacks.

The company says email-based cyber threats continued to mutate in 2021, causing global havoc. As Mimecast’s sixth annual State of Email Security Report makes clear, businesses around the world continued to find themselves in the cross-hairs not just of a novel coronavirus, but also a torrent of new cyber attacks.

With the number of publicly reported data breaches soaring past the previous year’s total, 2021 appears to be the worst year on record for cybersecurity.

The event will feature cybersecurity experts and guest speaker Danny Myburgh, a digital forensics expert who was responsible for establishing the National Computer Crime Investigation Unit for the South African Police Service.
