CCTV is a tool

South Africa is currently facing a sharp rise in crime which has left many citizens and business owners to pose the question, “What security measures can be carried out to ensure my family, assets and home are safe at all times?”

CCTV and technical solutions have merged to become a security tool that can be utilised to defend against the sharp rise in crime. Although, with all the technology in the marketplace today, crime still occurs. But, why?

According to LD Africa’s territory account manager, Sean Sykes, “Crime is sadly a part of our daily lives, however, with use of CCTV and technology, a vast number of crimes are being prevented and suspects arrested.

“CCTV offers endless opportunities and solutions for intrusion detection, perimeter breaches, movement in occupied and empty buildings and even vacant land, through the use of thermal cameras.”

By simply looking at things from a different perspective, CCTV can be utilised in a variety of areas. For example, LD Africa recommends the SP16 solar powered camera, which offers live alerts and monitoring, through GSM networks, on your smartphone.

CCTV has become the ‘eyes’ of the security provider and assists them in offering better service delivery to their customers while assisting in maintaining their budgets.
