BetaTrac assists with guarding service delivery

Issue 9 2020 Products & Solutions

South Africans rely on private security for their lives and their businesses; effective management of security guards is therefore of paramount importance in delivering this essential service.

Security guards are always on the frontline under permanent threat from criminals. It is therefore essential to support them with proven and reliable technology that not only ensures the integrity of the service, but is also able to summon immediate help where and when it is needed via a panic function.

Automatic guard tracking has also become an essential component to meet the expectations that clients place on their security providers. Therefore, guard tracking technology must be fully integrated into the guard’s apparel and must not invade any of his or her handling and operation in the fulfilment of their duties.

Of similar importance is the guard’s patrol route, the time spent on the route’s sectors as well as the time and attention given to specific points of interest along this route. Criminals have learnt to study guarding behaviour and patrol routes, and constantly devise methods to identify and attack the weak points within this security process. The guard tracking technology must be dynamic and flexible, so it allows for a change in guarding routes and guarding processes on the fly.

Monitoring and managing is of utmost importance for an essential service such as guarding. Therefore, of key importance are the performance reports and visualisations of guard tracking.

BetaTrac Telematic Solutions has been successfully supplying solutions pertaining to the above to the security industry this past year across its product portfolio, with includes:

• eGuard - Lightweight GPS integrated armband with live real-time guard tracking system.

• eTrac – Live tracking solutions for tracking visitor vehicles within residential and commercial estates.

• eTrac IS (Intelligent Supervisor) is a body-worn, lightweight GPS integrated with live real-time supervisor tracking and management system.

• RapidCam – Mobile bodycam with Full HD audio/video and 12-hour runtime.

• RapidTrac - Mobile vehicle real-time surveillance system using snapshot images, critical for safety and security and fleet management.
