Paxton10 for smart buildings

Issue 5 2020 Access Control & Identity Management

Paxton10, offering access control and video management on one simple platform, is available in the South African market. The company has taken the broad features of the access control and video management systems in use today, and brought them into a single platform where video and access are integrated, out-of-the-box, licence-free and with a level of simplicity not yet seen in the industry.

At the time of writing (June) the world is only just starting to emerge from the COVID-19 lockdown with building owners and operators facing new challenges. They must ensure their premises are safe and secure for people to return to work and manage the flow of people through the building, all at a time when finances are stretched. This is where Paxton10 comes into its own.

Where previously you’d have to install two separate systems, you now only have one. This gives you the benefit of managing and viewing access events alongside video footage on one simple platform – making building management incredibly easy. The system is also highly flexible; for example, the range of readers are compatible with card, code and Bluetooth smart credentials (smartphone app or smart watch) to ensure the right fit, whatever your needs. You can even use the biometric feature in your smartphone or tablet for an additional layer of security and it’s completely licence-free, meaning no ongoing costs as you expand your system in the future.

The simplicity of Paxton10 is magnified when you begin to understand the power of the integrated video management system. Users are currently concerned about touch biometric devices due to the risk of COVID-19 transmission but want the assurance that credentials are not being shared. Paxton10, with video and access control events, seamlessly combined, gives you the confidence and visual evidence that your building is secure and safe for you, your employees and visitors.

In using Paxton10 cameras you get the added peace of mind of the full five-year product warranty and technical support. If you already have cameras installed, no problem. Paxton10 is compatible with most third-party IP cameras, ensuring flexibility and cost-saving.

If you want to enhance the system further, you can easily integrate fire and intruder systems using Paxton10 alarm connectors, giving you full visibility and control of your security system. For greater simplicity you can set or un-set and monitor your multi-zone intruder alarm, run roll-call reports and open doors in the event of a fire or emergency, all from one place.

The whole system is brought together on a browser-based user interface which has been optimised for Chrome and Safari, meaning multiple users can operate the system at any time to monitor and administrate as required without any software downloads.

Paxton took the experience one step further and implemented its own secure cloud services that enable you to access your system from anywhere in the world with an Internet connection on your PC, tablet, or smart device.
