Vehicle and driver identification

According to Stats SA, over 83 000 vehicles were reported stolen in 2018/2019 with around 32 000 incidents of hijacking reported during this period. Not only do vehicle thefts and hijackings result in considerable financial loss, but endanger the lives of victims as well.

Vehicle management systems offer an effective solution to avoid becoming one of these statistics. Such systems should consist of two major components: vehicle and driver identification. These components can be achieved through a range of solutions, from manual identification by a security guard through to automated identification solutions such as ANPR and biometrics.
