Multivid now Jasco Security Solutions

February 2012 News & Events, Financial (Industry)

New technology, energy and innovation – the same service excellence.

MultiVid has delivered its integrated high-end security solutions to industry, and particularly large enterprise, for more than two decades. Now it is taking its track record and a reputation for innovation and service excellence and putting it behind a new brand – Jasco Security Solutions. It is the same company, but with the support of the Jasco Group behind it, it is expanding its horizons.

Jasco Industry Solutions is part of the Jasco Group, an organisation that delivers systems, solutions and integration across three core industries: Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Solutions, Industry Solutions, and Energy Solutions. Jasco was listed on the JSE in 1987 and has attained an ‘AA’ BEE rating as a Level 3 contributor.

Jasco Security Solutions functions as a business unit within Jasco’s Industry Solutions vertical and is among the top five suppliers of security solutions to the financial sector and large enterprise. Its clients include organisations in the education, mining, energy, transport, manufacturing, retail and public sectors. Jasco Security Solutions has designed and implemented end-to-end systems that address access control, CCTV and alarm systems, including bank’s vaults, physical branches and ATMs in the financial sector; urban and highway surveillance and toll plazas in the transport sector; and malls, corporate and industrial sites and manufacturing plants in other sectors.

Says Marius Maré, Divisional MD of Jasco Security Solutions: “Jasco’s restructure and rebranding exercise provided the ideal opportunity for us to broaden and deepen our vision, looking to new opportunities to expand our service and product offering as well as enter new geographic and industry segments. With some recent wins and new offerings off the ‘ideas shelf’ and into our storefront, we look forward to growing our market share and stretching our wings in new sectors – but we are doing this cautiously, ensuring we can meet and maintain a high quality of service.”

The Jasco Group’s strategy is to build a powerful stable of brands and teams of highly experienced and motivated staff through organic growth and targeted acquisitions. It is structuring the companies in its three verticals to take advantage of natural synergies.

Notes Maré: “Security solutions and systems are increasingly driven by information and communication technology. With Jasco’s ICT Solutions vertical having a strong footprint in networking, radio frequency (RF) and infrastructure, as well as enterprise communications and applications, there are a number of avenues we are exploring in terms of developing broader end-to-end security and other solutions that our clients can leverage.”

Jasco Security Solutions has recently added Fire Technology and Building Management to its primary Security Technology offerings. “As a world class integrator of security solutions using top end products, we are keenly aware of the increasing integration of building management and monitoring technologies with security products. We have a formidable research and development (R&D) team and will continue to identify segments where we can add value, and target introduction of new technologies that will enable us to create the customised solutions our clients want to meet their unique requirements.

“At Jasco Security Solutions we are committed to delivering the very best solution for each individual client,” says Maré, “and we have the expertise to provide a full solution, from scoping to design, supply, project management and implementation, to managing and monitoring.”

In terms of growing its client base, Jasco Security Solutions is currently targeting the mining and government sectors. The company has a national footprint with branches in Durban, Bloemfontein, Cape Town, Port Elizabeth and Gauteng and satellite branches in Nelspruit, East London, Kimberley and Polokwane; and Africa is calling. Says Maré: “We are successfully expanding into Ethiopia, Botswana and Mozambique, providing solutions to a large soft drinks manufacturer and also exploring new opportunities in the financial sector.”

Concludes Maré: “We look forward to doing business in 2012 – this is a competitive segment and we are seeing more ICT organisations playing in this sector – but there is enormous opportunity for companies like Jasco Security Solutions who have the expertise and insight, and the capacity and capability to deliver.”
