Carrier rebranded Kidde Global Solutions

Issue 4 and 5 2025 News & Events, Fire & Safety

As of July 2025, the former Carrier Fire & Security South Africa will operate under its new name: Kidde Fire & Security South Africa. The rebranding is part of the global realignment of the commercial and residential fire and security business, which was recently acquired by a subsidiary of Lone Star Funds from Carrier Global Corporation.

The $3 billion transaction includes globally recognised brands such as Kidde, Kidde Commercial, Edwards, GST, Badger, Gloria, and Aritech, which will now operate under the unified umbrella of Kidde Global Solutions (KGS). As a standalone platform company, KGS brings together global expertise in fire and security solutions for residential and commercial buildings.

“With the renaming of our South Africa subsidiary, we emphasise our affiliation with the new, internationally oriented Kidde Global Solutions platform,” explains Rob Sibbett, MD of Kidde Fire & Security South Africa. “For our customers and partners, everything essential remains the same: the same contacts, consistently high product quality, and an even stronger focus on forward-looking solutions in fire detection and security technology.”

The realignment of Kidde Global Solutions aims to establish new standards in fire protection and electronic security through innovative products, customised services, and a global reach. As part of this strategy, the South African market will also continue to be developed, with trusted brands and practical support for planners, installers, and end users.
