Beagle Watch adds fire to its portfolio

Beagle Watch Armed Response and FIRE OPS SA announced the enhancement of the two companies' combined service offerings to provide professional fire safety services to Beagle Watch clients and Johannesburg residents.

In celebration of the 2nd anniversary of the companies’ partnership, Beagle Watch has added a dedicated emergency response centre for FIRE OPS SA at the company’s Fairland Head Office. This is called a ‘patch’ and will be named FIRE OPS SA Patch 3.

“In December 2021, Beagle Watch was the first private security provider in Johannesburg to offer its clients a free subscription to a private fire-fighting company as an added-value benefit,” says André Aiton, Managing Director of Beagle Watch.

This was in response to the sharp increase in domestic fire emergencies and the strain municipal firefighting services experienced in responding to emergencies.

“We believe in offering our clients an extensive service offering and support beyond home security,” says Aiton. In 2020, the company, therefore, introduced priority access for its clients to emergency medical support through its partners, Netcare 911, and then concluded a deal with FIRE OPS SA, the first of its kind in the industry at the time.

“Beagle Watch pays a subscription to FIRE OPS SA for each client to ensure they have access to the best private fire-fighting support in Johannesburg. This is at no extra cost to clients as part of our commitment to ensure clients’ overall safety.”

Adding a dedicated response site, Patch 3, to the Beagle Watch Head Office in Fairland further extends this service offering. “FIRE OPS SA personnel will be responding from our The Beagle Watch offices around the clock, ensuring even faster and more efficient response times to fire emergencies in the area.”

He adds that, over the past two years, FIRE OPS has dealt with nearly 60 fire emergencies for Beagle clients alone.

“Response time is of the essence,” says Aiton. “In as little as 30 seconds, a small flame can turn into a major fire, and it only takes minutes for thick, black smoke to fill a house or for it to be engulfed in flames.”

From when the call comes into its watch room, FIRE OPS SA’s standard response time is around 60 seconds to dispatch during daylight hours and 90 seconds to dispatch at night.
