Pentagon appointed as Milestone distributor

Issue 7 2023 News & Events, Surveillance

Milestone Systems appointed Pentagon Distribution (an Elvey Group company within the Hudaco Group of Companies) as a distributor.

“We see a huge synergy between the various security solutions the Elvey Group currently offers — including Bosch and Axis surveillance cameras — and Milestone Systems. We are equally excited about integrating Milestone and our building management system platform, Tridium, further enhancing our solution offering. We can now offer our customers direct access to this open platform, which currently supports over 13 000 cameras and hundreds of third-party integrations in 150 000 installations globally,” says Tasha Smith, Sales and Marketing Director for the Elvey Group.

“Furthermore, there is a direct integration with the O-Insights for Agile Dashboards, and SAFR facial recognition (that we distribute) integrates with Axis and Milestone. Finally, our Vaxtor automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) and OCR platforms not only allow for traditional ANPR, but can also perform container recognition, together with character recognition on aeroplanes, trucks, and trains,” says Elvey Product Manager, Haiko Wostmann.

“The choice of Pentagon as a distribution partner was very strategic, as we recognise the wealth of experience and expertise inherent in the team. The Pentagon team is in a strong position to provide its extensive customer base with added value through the integrated solutions approach both organisations favour. Adding Milestone to the Elvey Group offering was the next logical step in the process, and we are very confident that the Elvey Group’s customers will benefit from this targeted solutions approach. In addition, we anticipate that our Milestone footprint will increase substantially by leveraging Elvey Group’s widespread national branch network,” says George Psoulis, Sales Manager of Milestone Systems Africa.

Psoulis says that Milestone’s XProtect platform allows users to scale up the number of cameras, sites, servers, storage, and users easily. XProtect’s open architecture means no lock-in and the ability to customise the connected video solution that will accomplish the job. “Milestone’s market approach is to empower people, businesses, and societies with data-driven video technology. We provide actionable insights from video data through the perfect combination of your cameras and sensors and our open platform software and analytics — always with a responsible mindset and a people-first approach.”
