Stop any unwanted vehicles

Issue 5 2023 Access Control & Identity Management, Retail (Industry), Products & Solutions

Boomgate Systems was recently tasked to secure a wine distribution facility in Midrand. The requirement from the client was quite clear; stop any unwanted vehicles.

To satisfy the customers’ requirement, Boomgate Systems recommended they install one of the Warrior Hydraulic Bollard range of bollards. Boomgate has a choice of six automated bollards to choose from. From a 600 mm intercept height with a 217 mm diameter bollard, up to a 1000 mm intercept height with a 271 mm diameter bollard, which will stop a vehicle travelling at 80 kph with a weight of 7500 kg.

What’s more, the bollard will still be functioning after impact, offering a secure solution without delaying or disrupting the flow of traffic into and out of the distribution centre.

Boomgate Systems will manage the installation of the bollards from start to finish, including all civil and finishing works. Due to company policy, Boomgate Systems only supplies to system integrators, but will assist and advise with any enquiry.

Warrior Hydraulic Bollard features:

• Fully compatible with any form of access control.

• Interlocked with booms, spikes or gates.

• Panic lock-out once activated.

• 3,5 second per operation.

• Crash rated from K4/K12.

• Manual lowering in the event of power failures.

• Fast one-second closing in case of emergency.

• 220 V single-phase motor, or 3-phase.

• Minimal service works required.
