Gurtam obtains ISO/IEC 27001 certification

Issue 4 2023 News & Events, Asset Management

Gurtam, a European software developer and provider of GPS tracking and IoT solutions, has recently obtained its ISO/IEC 27001 certificate, proving the reliability of its information security management systems and data processes.

ISO/IEC 27001 is the go-to standard for establishing and implementing information security management systems. These systems preserve the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information by applying a risk management process, and give confidence to interested parties that risks are adequately managed.

The certificate gives companies tools to safeguard their assets, including financial information, intellectual property, employee data, and information entrusted by third parties. The ISO/IEC 27001 certification also covers other areas, including human resource management and procurement management processes, underscoring Gurtam’s dedication to following ISO standards and best practices across the entire organisation.

To obtain ISO/IEC 27001, Gurtam underwent a comprehensive series of audits conducted by CERT International s.r.o., a Slovakia-based auditing company. CERT International experts confirmed that Gurtam’s information security management systems and internal processes meet the comprehensive requirements set out by ISO.

Data security is a priority for businesses of all sizes and across industries, and with the number of data breaches continuing to increase, it is more of a priority than ever before. This certification reflects Gurtam’s ongoing efforts to maintain the highest standard of cybersecurity and resilience in all aspects of the company’s operations – from the development and distribution of telematics and IoT solutions, to partner and customer support, which is all the more important during this cybercrime wave.

"Our GPS tracking software products are used in more than 150 countries, and we make every possible effort to ensure that the ‘Developed by Gurtam’ label is synonymous with impeccable quality. Earning the ISO/IEC 27001 certificate sends a strong message to our existing or potential partners and customers that our team is equipped with the latest knowledge, tools and resources to keep information secure at all times," comments Aliaksandr Kuushynau, Head of Wialon at Gurtam.
