Enkulu Technologies to distribute Brazil’s Control iD

Issue 1 2023 News & Events, Access Control & Identity Management, Products & Solutions

Enkulu Technologies has been appointed as the first South African distributor of Control iD products. Control iD is a Brazilian company founded in 2006. The company has put significant effort into its time and attendance (T&A) range of solutions, ensuring accuracy and reliability. This is based on the range of access control products it produces.

According to Control iD, “Control iD is a 100% Brazilian company specialising in developing hardware and software for electronic security, commercial automation and human resources management. Control iD intends to meet the needs and exceed the expectations of micro, small, medium and large companies in all business sectors, constantly investing in research and innovation.”

“Commercial automation refers to the use of machines and equipment to automate certain commercial activities in a company, previously performed manually. Thus, its main objective is to provide greater speed, reliability and cost reductions, increasing the efficiency of processes and productivity of the overall organisation.”

Until recently, Control iD has only focused on the Brazilian market, but is now broadening its horizons. Enkulu will be the first to introduce the brands hardware and software solutions to the continent.

“We were given the opportunity to evaluate their products, and if we liked them, we could then move on to offering the product via our established distribution network,” says Frazer Matchett, MD of Enkulu Technologies.

Jordan Margaritov, Technical Director of Enkulu, with 15 years of experience in high-level support, and Matchett, with 17 years of experience, tested the products to ensure they met expectations from a user and reliability perspective. “Suffice to say, we put the products through their paces and they have been given our nod of approval,” states Matchett.

“These products are not your typical Chinese/Korean products with terrible user interfaces and annoying voice prompts. The products have been rigorously tested and we believe they are way ahead of their Eastern competitors.”

He adds that Control iD offer cost-effective products aimed at the mid-tiered market, and will therefore do well in the South African space. “We are currently scouting for sub-distributors who will help us grow this market.”

Product focus

Three of the products Control iD has on offer, as well as their respective specifications, are listed below.

iDFace

With a modern and innovative design, iDFace is the ideal device to monitor and control people entering and exiting a building using facial recognition technology. Its high-quality algorithm enables face liveness detection, authentication of users wearing a mask and identification of up to 10 000 faces (1: N).

The device features a 3.5-inch touchscreen display and an embedded web software that makes it easy to manage access rules and generate reports. iDFace has an integrated SIP intercom, TCP/IP, USB, and on certain models, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. It also offers IP65 ingress protection.

iDAccess Pro

iDAccess Pro is ideal to monitor and control people entering and leaving corporate environments that demand high performance. The quad-core 1,2 GHz processor ensures identification of up to 100 000 fingerprints (1:N) in stand-alone mode. In addition, the device has a 3,5-inch touchscreen display and embedded web software that facilitates access rule management.

In addition to fingerprint biometric identification, it also supports proximity cards and passwords.

iDFLEX

In the T&A; space, iDFLEX is a robust access controller. Its internal memory has enough space to store more than six thousand different fingerprints while working in stand-alone mode.

It provides an intuitive interface on the 2,4-inch LCD touch screen. In addition, iDFlex’s external activation module provides expandable solutions with greater security, which can be integrated with the iDCloud software for the Pro version.
