Olarm launches latest smart alarm communicator

Issue 1 2021 News & Events

Olarm has launched its latest smart alarm device, the Olarm Pro. Olarm transforms an existing alarm and makes it smart. The benefit is that it is not an expensive alarm system upgrade, rather a simple installation of an add-on device.

“It’s great to have the peace of mind that when you are away, you know exactly what is going on and you can remotely manage your alarm system,” says Olarm CTO, Justin Zondagh.

Besides the normal alarm features like arm, disarm, bypass, and the instant push notifications of alarm activations, Olarm has developed advanced services that take it a step further. You can cancel your armed response callout from the app and trigger your panic button – all from one app. We found users also like the detailed zone information and power status – especially during load shedding. The full audit history of alarm activity, multiple users and armed response integration differentiates the product even further.

The Olarm Pro is a locally manufactured hardware rebuild and upgrade to the successful Olarm Communicator, and now has added Wi-Fi and dual GSM connectivity. Standout features include a reliable mobile app and industry leading simultaneous multipath signal routing that ensures high reliability, even during load shedding and mobile network outages.

The Olarm Pro’s feature set includes sending alarm triggers and panic signals through to your armed response, replacing outdated VHF radio and telephone line signal transmission. “We will also be bringing additional connectivity options and other services to market in the near future,” Zondagh says.

Currently supported alarm types are Paradox, IDS, DSC and Texecom. Olarm Pro is available from over 350+ armed response companies plus installers and equipment suppliers countrywide.
