Technivision offers customers new developments from Cura

March 2003 Surveillance

Technivision has described its presence at Securex 2003 as hugely successful, mainly due to the strengths of its Cura Digital Video Recorders.

According to the company, many of the visitors from African, European and Middle Eastern countries expressed interest in the Cura range of DVRs, as well as an unexpectedly high level of enthusiasm displayed by local industry players.

Cura DVRs have been awarded the Proudly South African logo and, according to Technivision, the market acceptance of the product has again confirmed the fact that there are South African companies that are qualified and capable of producing world-class products.

Factors that contributed to Cura's success at Securex include:

1. The new management reporting system.

2. The true client/server architecture that gives flexibility in system design and integration with other IT processes.

3. The ability of Cura to integrate with business processes such as point-of-sale, access control, mass measuring devices, etc.

4. Ease of use.

5. The integration of the mouse with high-speed dome control.

The Cura range comprises three different DVRs viz:

* The sDVR: An entry-level machine that is competitively priced and offers high quality and ease of use.

* The iDVR meets the requirements of the middle range of the market with high-quality compression and frame rates per input. In addition to this it offers a management reporting system and allows for business process integration. The management reporting system ensures that users deal with all critical events, which can be verified by a manager across a corporate network or by modem. The business process integration allows for video to be matched to data transactions that are captured by tills, scanners, weigh bridges, scales or any other data capturing device.

* The rDVR is aimed at specialised applications where 25 frames per second per input are required. This high quality recorder includes all the features of the iDVR in addition to superior frame rates and is supplied standard with 240 GB of hard disk space. Many of the casinos and mining houses have already expressed interest in this recorder.
