ESDA tees-off the New Year

March 2003 News & Events

Nearly 60 golfers participated in the ESDA 2003 Golf Challenge held at Kyalami Country Club on 31 January 2003. After the disappointment of being rained out in October last year, the ESDA golfers were delighted to finally take to the course. Two pros participated on the day, to help keep the players on their toes.

By 11.30 the sun was blazing and the mildly wilted players were grateful for the frozen Powerade being handed out by the Technews girls.

Prizes

While their hard work paid off for some, others went home with only a bit too much sun. A lovely selection of prizes was sponsored by Aritech, Sesco, MS International and Peace Profiles.

Winners!

The winning team was produced by the MS International four ball. M. Mather and F. Majiet, with 50 points, walked off with the first prize: a set of original commissioned paintings for their boardroom. The prizegiving turned into a family affair, with Y. Mather and F. Mather scooping second prize. Next up, the boys from the Kingdom Electronic's four ball; M. Rhondi and J. Rhondi. They were followed, in fourth place, by Anne Swanson from Thales and her pro golfer partner. Longest Drive was swung by M. Rhondi. T. Levy and W. Carnell shot nearest to the pin on the sixth and the fourteenth hole respectively.
