Aluvin preferred supplier to Speed Services

March 2003 News & Events

Aluvin Securiseal, a manufacturer and distributor of security seals in South Africa, is the preferred supplier of security sealing systems to Speed Services, a division of the SA Post Office.

According to Frikkie Piorek, business development manager Speed Services Couriers, the company's systems and delivery reliability are on a par with any courier service in the world. "Our company is as good as the best worldwide. The systems that we have in place are state-of-the-art including the security sealing systems from Aluvin."

According to Kevin Norwitz, managing director Aluvin, it is pleasing that his company is able to be of such valuable service to an organisation like Speed Services Couriers. "Because we are able to rely on an international network of information from our principals across the world we are able to supply state-of-the-art sealing solutions to Speed Services Couriers. We can therefore combine international expertise with local manufacturing capabilities," says Norwitz.

The Super hub of Speed Services Couriers, based next to Johannesburg International Airport, provides a host of different overnight services involving the distribution of parcels throughout South Africa and internationally. "All of the thousands of items that we receive daily are put into containers and sealed with the Aluvin Grip Rip Seal. The seal number is printed on the waybill and when the receiver signs for the container, he checks that the number on the manifest is the same as indicated on the seal to ensure that containers are not tampered with. With us the system is relatively simple but highly effective," concludes Piorek.
