BoomGate experiences good growth

November 2002 Access Control & Identity Management

As a result of a considerable amount of customer support over the past financial year, BoomGate Systems has experienced a year-on-year growth rate of 66%. This growth has allowed BoomGate to negotiate a merger with its sheet metal fabricator, Alrata.

Alrata has been in the metal fabrication business for 28 years, and is well known as a supplier of finished metal goods to the South African industry. Whilst continuing to supply the industry in general, the merger means that Alrata will also be focusing its efforts on the local and international security markets. In addition, BoomGate Systems now boasts a modern 3000 m2 manufacturing facility including CNC punching and bending, and integral powder coating plants.

Furthermore, the company recently secured an order for the supply of 900 vehicle barriers to the international market. This order was won through Aflink SA. Aflink has extensive international contacts and has been appointed as BoomGate Systems' exclusive international trading partner.

According to the company, much of BoomGate's international success is based on its understanding of each export market's individual specifications and expectations. Aflink's international partners have had the BoomGate barriers tested to stringent international specifications, resulting in the award of the CE mark of approval. UL testing is currently under way.

Included in its comprehensive range of products are:

* 3-7 m manual barriers.

* 3-6 m electric barriers.

* 3-4,5 m high security spike barriers.

* Single direction road spikes.

* Turnstiles - all types and finishes.

* High security goods turnstiles with interlocking doors.

* Pedestrian barriers.

* Bollards (removable).

* Metal enclosures.

* Electromagnetic locks.
