Matrix wins Topcar award

One of South Africa's leading car publications, Topcar magazine, has voted the Matrix vehicle tracking system the best.

In an independent survey conducted by Topcar magazine, the Matrix MX3 system came out tops, with an overall score 10,25% higher than its main competitor. The tracking system was evaluated on recovery time, features, recovery teams, call centres, network and installation.

"Once again, Matrix has proven that it is in a class of its own when it comes to vehicle tracking systems," says Stefan Joss, CEO of Matrix. "Our advanced leading edge technology and our close working relationship with our valued customers, in which we strive to define their needs and then match them, has enabled us to keep on adding value," he says.

Matrix has a substantial range of products and services particularly suited to protecting vehicles throughout the country. It makes use of a combined global positioning satellites (GPS), and GSM (cellular) network technology in its products.

When Topcar conducted a test of vehicle tracking systems the Matrix recovery team was thoroughly tested, as the Topcar test team raced the turbo test vehicle at high speeds and then hid the vehicle at a motor dealership in an industrial area close to Johannesburg International Airport. "Air traffic control prevents helicopters from operating around the airport," says Joss, "which meant the air recovery crew was not permitted access to the vehicle. Despite this, our ground recovery crew reached the vehicle within 45 minutes."
