New developments for SecureVu VC 2000

July 2002 Surveillance

Vision Catcher has announced new developments to its SecureVu VC 2000. The company has now embedded a number of key features, including remote PTZ control, remote recording and a web-browser feature from a web page.

Included in this embedded detail is remote password access for web page monitoring and control (video, PTZ and recording). A new enhanced client remote module now gives access to 32 channels and a brand new client remote station for multiple server set-ups, with full camera monitoring and playback. As a result the remote station can view multiple servers and multiple camera variations.

Playback is now four screens simultaneously with extended options both locally and on the remote site. Displays have been enhanced, in the 8-input version quad and double-quad displays are now available, with a new 3 x 2 layout and double-quad flip button for eight input models - giving one the choice of viewing what one wants.

Furthermore, Vision Catcher has now concentrated on providing a series of server modules with a view to simplifying its web-browser features on Internet applications, and as a result the company has a new enhanced playback server with search and streaming playback functions, as well as a new modular remote services manager allowing a full password-enabled database management system of all remote servers.

The newly introduced servers and enhanced existing servers allow a multithread 32-channel JPEG video server working simultaneously with: MPEG4 video transmission, audio server, playback server, remote configuration server (relay server), chat server and PTZ control server; individual PTZ camera setup; audit trail log; instant playback (stop and restart recording during instant playback); and alarm log report. In addition video loss indication is integrated with a new alarm alert caller/receiver that can play .WAV file (for verbal alert) and allows for the important separation of motion alarm and external alarm (for alarm alert).

Additionally, Vision Catcher has also produced optional items, viz:

* WatchDog (software and hardware reset upon detection of a problem).

* New audio server/client - for remote audio monitoring over IP.

* Remote configuration server - using http server one could do all utility settings of the N2K server remotely (including change the schedule, alarms, names of cameras etc). All remote configuration functions will be accessible from a web-browser.

* WebCam server supporting JPEG push technology for web page posting and transfer to other nonWindows platforms - Mac, Linux, PDA - ipaq etc.

* Alarm alert function with e-mailing of an image upon motion detection or external alarm trigger. Notification upon video loss and more such as the (PDA) iPAQ remote monitoring.
