AST takes on Kidde

Alien Systems and Technologies (AST), a local manufacturer and supplier of specialised extinguishing systems, has been awarded an exclusive agency for the Kidde-Graviner Explosion Detection and suppression range of equipment.

This range of products is primarily used in the process industry and includes detection, suppression, control, isolation and venting equipment. AST also recently acquired the Hart XL and Linear heat detection agencies from Kidde Fire Protection.

Says AST MD Paul Wright, "These three additional product ranges build and complement our already established presence in the fire extinguishing market.

"In particular the explosion suppression systems utilise the environmentally friendly Kiddex multimodel suppressant which has no environmental impact and has zero greenhouse warming potential, meeting the requirements of the SABS/ISO 14000 standard on environmental management, which most industrial users now comply with," states Wright.

Wright further explains that the Hart XL High Sensitivity Smoke Detection (HSSD) system is a cost-effective advanced aspirating smoke detection system and utilises smoke particle counting technology.
